Our Team

Colours of a Kind NPC was founded by Christiane Wacker in 2019, as part of a vision for a social business that supports and empowers women in South Africa at every step of the process.

Studio Manager, Waseefa Hutton, and Supervisor, Sindisiwe Phafuli, are responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation and its programmes.

The NPC is supported by fellow Directors Jacqui Barhouch and Jakob Schlichtig who bring years of experience in the non-profit sector and insight into the South African context to the board.

With over 18 years of experience in the fashion industry, Waseefa Hutton brings a unique blend of creative vision, technical expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit. Known for her ability to fuse timeless design with modern innovation, Waseefa Hutton has built a dynamic career that spans fashion design, brand development, and business leadership.

From launching successful collections to collaborating with local brands Waseefa Hutton has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of style, craftsmanship, and market trends. She has worked across diverse segments of the industry from luxury and ready-to wear to sustainable fashion, always with a focus on quality, originality, and customer experience.

As a passionate past entrepreneur, driven by a passion for innovation and craftsmanship. Waseefa Hutton has founded and led fashion ventures that reflect her bold aesthetic and strategic insight. She is committed to empowering the next generation of designers and continues to be a driving force in shaping the future of fashion through innovation and authenticity.

Sindisiwe Phafuli

Studio Supervisor

Sindisiwe is one of our Colours of a Kind success stories!

She joined our Learn Make Sew training programme in 2020, while also running her own business designing and making garments.

When our CMT was launched in 2023, she joined part time and worked her way up to become Studio Supervisor.
